Wait for 1050 or get 470?

Guest

Would 1050 surpass 460 a lot? Or will it be on the same level?

I am looking for an upgrade to my 760 and been looking at RX 470 for a while.

Maybe a 1050Ti too but anybody have any idea?

Definitely not 960 (really?) or 970 or some R9 due to poor price/performance

Not RX 480 yet.. because of the price again. But I will look at some cheap ones.

No. As with any card that is not out yert. nobody can tell. You are asking for valid performance numbers. You can get those, once review samples have been sent out.Since they haven't, nobody can answer your question without guessing. It's the same as always - if you can wait - wait, if not, get the 460

I'm expecting the 1050 to be a bit faster than a 950 (which is a bit faster than a 460), which is similar to a 760. So no, I wouldn't consider it an upgrade.

The 460 is like a 270/370 at $115. The 1050/ti should be like a 960/970 at around $150-$170. So obviously the 460 is a better bang per buck. The 470 is going to be the target competition. NVIDIA just wants a green option in those price points and doesn't necessarily care whether or not it's a good value (2gb 1050, 3gb 1060).

if somewhere between 960 and 970 then I will need to consider. I know a 470 is between that range too

I also upgraded from a gtx 760, you would have to upgrade to a rx 470 or a gtx 1060-3gb for it to be worth it to upgrade.

I am not sure about the specs of the gtx 1050ti but I doubt you will want to wait for the gtx 1050 (non ti)

I personally upgraded to a rx480 because I am planning to get a 1440p monitor.

I bet the 1050 ends up about as powerful as a 960. If you're on a really tight budget wait a while, as GPU prices are pretty inflated right now. At worst I imagine you'll at least get a free game code out of it by waiting until mid November or so.

You can wait for a 1050 if you want. If you're looking at a 470 4gb version, I would also recommend taking a look at the RX480 4gb version. The prices are not too far off

Wait is the 460 actually better than a 760 since it's weaker than a 950 so.............hmm I'll have to look this up

no, the GTX 760 is quite a bit more powerful than the RX 460...the RX 460 is weak as fuck

Ok so I wasn't crazy, I kept scratching my head on that on but never looked it up, but I think my comment is confusing since i forgot to start it with "since when"

I don't have any plan to get RX 460 at all.

The 470 though is a nice upgrade from a 760

i would ecpect the GTX 1050 to come with a 2gb and a 4gb flavor...and should fall a bit behind the 470, and knowing nvidia, the 4GB 1050 will cost the same as a 4GB 470...so i would get the AMD card if you can find one available at decent price honestly.

If you can swing for a GTX 1060 though, i would go that instead.
