( Turned into a ramble, TL:DR at end )

Right off the back, I am far from good in RL but far from bad. Even though my rank is only Pros 3 Div 1, that is from the shit random teammates I get. I know I am not the only one who gets stuck with players like this but I can play at Challenger 1/2 level, the problem is getting stuck with people who flail off the wall like a fish without water or 2v1ing or ( when I play 3s ) 3v2ing/3v1ing. The past 5 comp games I've played, my teammate was either super bad ( and I can't blame people for being bad, RL takes a ton of practice and again I am far from good ) and it turns into them doing more harm then good or I try and tell them like "Hey can you not go for the kickoff when you are further behind" and just leave or say fuck off and leave, ( Yeah, happened twice today where the guy just said fuck off and left, meh his 10 min ban not mine ).

I like playing in tourny's even though I know we won't win ( more than likely ), Also I am in kind of a "team", mostly for fun though if we do get really good my one friend is Chal 3- Chal Elite level ( He is ranking up slowly though can hit Rising Star ) and since most bigger tourny's are 3s it could be a lot of fun. Though I can't play 2s comp with him since I would be playing with people a bit out of my skill level. ( When he was Chal 1/2 I could keep up with the play style and would win a few games )

TL:DR I am Pros 3 in 2s, though shit teammates make it hard to get into the Chal 1/2 level I know I can hit. Plus I like to play tournies and am in a more of a "fun" team with someone who is Chal 3 ( and can hit Chal Elite/Rising Star, just takes time ) who likes to do 3s tournaments. ( The team also has 2 other people in it though aren't into the whole "Comp" thing as much )

Im not a pro or something but the way im learned and still am is just watching some streams see what people do differently, most of the time you can see the little things but there are some for example powersliding is something that the most of the players is doing wrong.

And try to improve yourself and do not look at your "bad" teammates for to long, try to be the guy that can adjust be flexible and you will probably win some games even when you have shitty team mates.

It is funny how i meet most of the prospect guys that mostly blame their teammate's but they will also hit unnecessary just for sake to hit it, not saying you are this but my post might make you think twice again or make you mad. xD

I am currently now Rising Star never used Reddit but trying to get sometime on there for good tips from good players. Also watch some of the lower tier twitch streams they can add some knowledge too, and probably have a bit more time to answer than one of the top 3 Rocket League Streamers.

Just wanted to add if you really want to get better and did not even look at the camera settings you should do that asap. Get idea's from a pro his settings but dont freaking copy them unless they work for YOU, but you cant say that till you tried a few different setups.

Example :

I tried some different things and even tried controller since im playing with the Keyboard, the xBox controller does not work for me since a few buttons are actually harder to press than on the Ps4 Controller. But i already had like 300 hours into it before i even touched a controller once in Rocket League. But that does not mean the xBox controller is shit, i just dont like it in Rocket League but i use it non-stop in GTA.

Quote or mention me if not feel ignored

I watch streams all the time, and ya I make mistakes but the biggest mistakes that get goals scored on is most of the time because I had ball control on their side and for some reason, I go to center it and my team mate comes up behind and AND HITS THE BALL causing it to rebound off the back wall, giving me or them no time to recover or time to get back since he either just held down his boost even when at supersonic speed or I used what was left of mine to try and center the ball almost always resorting in a goal. My Camera settings are a combination of Lachinio's and a bit of adjustments I made such as rising the camera height.

Now I am no saying every game I lose is because of my teammate ( though that was the case yesterday ), there are things I need to work on but that'll come as time goes such as reading the ball or my opponent as I won't always judge their position correctly or what not. The thing is I have played against Challenger 2's who worse than me.

Like I said, it isn't all the time I do get a decent teammate every few games though a good portion of the time I get paired up with some dude who gets salty as fuck because I ask him not to do something that is completely stupid ( such as the one guy who told me to fuck off because I asked him not to ball chase ) or something as simple as not going for kickoff when he is the further one back. It is either a toxic player or someone who simply should be at a lower rank. I could ramble on another 300 words but I rather not.

Ok, first of all, I have over 1000 hours in the game, allot of experience so I think I'm qualified to say the things I'm about to say.

One of the most common thing holding players back is when they blame there team mates for there mistakes, and they don't realize that they are doing it them selfs.

Yeah, sure you might be better than them, heck they could be wiffing 2/3 balls, but there is a reason you get matched up with him, you have the same mmr as him (Match Making Rating) "Yeah i have the same mmr as him because people like him are holding me back and therefor i cant escape that mmr range". But here is the thing you are defenently doing something just as wrong as him if you blame him for your loss.

Here, let me give you an example, he goes chasing the ball into offence to give you a pass or try to score, then you go in front of the enemy goal to prepare but then he fails extremely hard, does something really stupid, so the other team gets a counter attack and scores. "that was obviously his fault" NO!!! you failed, not him even though his attack may have failed, you completely misjudged the situation and left defence open and gave the enemy team a free goal.

Ok, now for another example you are in goal and the other team is about to take a shot so your team mate goes for a block but then completely fails and the ball goes rushing to your goal at 150 kmph and straight over you. "Yeah i was expecting him to make a challenge, so i went forward, but he failed, how was that my bad???". Again IT WAS YOUR BAD! maybe this time it was also your team mates fault but heres the thing there is ALWAYS something that you could have done better, no matter what. In that case, you knew that you had a 'bad" team mate so you should have stayed in goal, but you didn't, so again, you misjudged the situation.

Now those examples were very situational but you get the message, you can always prevent this stuff from happening. So please don't blame team mates for holding you back.

Again, thanks for the informational part. I know I am not perfect and that not EVERY goal is there fault, though my biggest complaint with where I am is most people don't understand the basic idea of positioning which is a big issue. Positioning, Ball hogging and Ball chasing is something people in the prospect levels have trouble with and 1 out of the 3 of those can be solved withing 1-2 games. I don't care if I lost and we played semi decent, I do not like how we somehow win even though either I, or my teammate was playing like trash or just ball hogged/chased the entire game. Ya, I make mistakes, even the pros do, but my biggest gripe is the 3 things I mentioned.

I don't think tat you properly understood my point, when your teammates are doing those things you have to position yourself accordingly. If your teammate is ball chasing or just completely out of position you have to adjust your position, like i said if your mate goes chasing the ball you compensate for that. The quicker you get the mentality that you can always compensate and prevent conceding all goals just if you would have done one thing differently the quicker you will rise.

How do you stop someone who can't score a goal but doesn't give you a chance to score a goal because they'll try and score their own center even if they have almost no chance of scoring it. Or since they're a ball chaser, you just have to sit back the entire game and hop they somehow score a goal because if they can't then it'll just be an ongoing attempt of them trying to score and not rotating out or me having to come out of position and hope the other team can't get a hard enough clear so I have enough time to get back and defend.

to reply to this i will give you one example, I'm pretty sure i could win against any 2 prospects with an extreme ball chaser that has no idea how to position himself e.t.c. so why cant you.

To reply to this, you said you have a 1,000 hours in this game? So you're what, an All Star? Shooting Star? I said I am at Chal 1/2 levels, the difference being you are clearly better than me by a long shot.

Exactly, focus on improving, not blaming bad teammates. :)

Ya... Let me have 6 saves in one game and lose 1-0 because teammate literally just chased after the ball THE ENTIRE GAME. If I would of come out of that net for more than 10 seconds it would of been a devastation, because it comes down to can I score more goals than they can because my teammate sure as fuck won't bother with defending.
