I know its a X58 chipset, so 1366, but is it an overclockable like the Z series?

Or are all X58 motherboards (ASUS, MSI etc) overclockable, just not the Dell's and HP's of the world?

Do I absolutely need a K chip, or would there be a bio's for oc'ing non K.

OK I found these, is this an ideal motherboard to have for overclocking?

Hardware OverVoltage Control IC - Enabling Extreme Overclocking

GIGABYTE Hardware Overvoltage Control ICs featuring more voltage control options than before for the CPU North Bridge and memory. The overvoltage controllers also provide hardware linear real-time voltage control, which means there is no delay compared to the GPIO controller in past implementations. In addition, GIGABYTE's Hardware Overvoltage Controller ICs also allow for much finer voltage control, allowing power users to adjust voltage in as little increments as 20mV for better overclocking performance.

Yep. Any x58 is overclockable

I think the multipler was locked on all but the extreme editions, but you can OC with the fsb or base clock. Its not the lock base clock we have with newer platforms.

Ooohh I never knew that. I guess the multiplier is ideal to have then.

I looked at LGA 1150 but even the used cpu's are expensive. e3-12xx V3 and V4. Thats why I am looking at one back.

This one is available too

GA-Z68X-UD4-B3  its LGA-1155

*Can I overclock all Xeons, and only K brand Cores?

Or wait a minute, if I look on Wikipedia's website, the CPU needs to have a Multiplier number.
