Processor and Game compatibility

Go to solution Solved by Snadzies,

Your CPU is fine and should be for a few more years at least.

CPU requirements for games recently have be a real clusterfuck as they are almost never remotely accurate.

Games will often "require" an Intel CPU that is either the newest or a generation old but the game runs very well on CPUs 2, 3, 4 or more generations older.

Really, the only thing you need to concern yourself with is if you have an Intel CPU with 4 cores (which you do).

If you meet that you can play pretty much any game you want with out issue.

So i have a GTX 960 4GB i bought a few months ago and my processor is an Intel i5 4440 3.1GHz processor.

i've been able to run :
The Witcher 3
Arkham Knight
Madmax

now the processor requirements for each of these is varied so what matters most ? Is it the clock speed and should i be playing these games seeing as my CPU probably (im guessing) cant handle the load?

Dilemma, please help and Thanks all !

Get a better CPU Cooler and also good thermal paste, like the Arctic Silver 5. If you want budget and good air cooling, go with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO. I'd recommend not to go water cooling, as you are not using a K chip.

It is said that an Italian dies every time Spaghetti is broken.

That's why I break mine twice.

Aftermarket cooler on that CPU is overkill. It will be fine with stock cooler. Noise is really only thing that could matter for getting aftermarket cooler.
