I want to avoid having problems with this PC, and it's my first one so..I want to know if this graphics card would work with the power supply. I think everything works together, but I'll permalink everything. Does the graphics card work with the power supply? I've compared everything to check compatibility but I'm just wanting to make sure.

Side note..does that cooler look like it'll be enough?

It's compatible, but you can get a cheaper and better PSU - http://pcpartpicker.com/product/TgW9TW/seasonic-power-supply-m12ii520bronze

You don't need such expensive motherboard for a locked i5. I suggest getting a cheaper motherboard and a RX 470 for the price difference.

Do you really need such expensive full tower case? A mid tower will be sufficient.

Yep, that's pretty much the optimal build for the budget.

I'd take the PNY 1060 (same as Palit and Gainward in Europe) over the MSI, mainly because of the better cooler with 0dB fan mode and extra IO.

Thanks y'all, but say I still want the Phantom 820, would anything need to be changed about this motherboard? Or does it have enough SATA ports for all the hue lighting? http://pcpartpicker.com/product/kGqbt6/asrock-motherboard-h170ax131

Also, would I change anything about the air cooler I'm getting? I'm looking at the 820 and there are a lot of fans already. (nooby question, sorry)

You know the size of the 820, right? It's about as tall as the torso of a grown man.

That moment when you pick a case more expensive than your GPU....

A good case can last decades.  The best GPU is decent for maybe five years, good for about three, and best for about one.

It is also a lot easier to physically upgrade a GPU, and sell a used GPU.

He pick the white version, that color will definitely turns shitty after few years.

And however you look at it, spending almost $200 on a case is just too much and probably there's alot other option at that price point that fares better.

And would you buy a 750Ti for a new build now?

I doubt anyone will...

I don't know what his build purpose is but most likely people would game on it so it's wise to spend as much as you can on a GPU, that's definitely a high priority when considering a gaming build (if he intend to game on it, I don't see why not).

I don't know what his exact purpose is either.  Which is why I'm not trying to tell him exactly what he needs.

All I did was offer possible reasons why he's spending more for his chassis.

I'm just wanting to game and use this for heavy work down the line in college.. That's all, to be honest. I also just wanted a nicer looking chassis to match the white desk setup I have. Plus, I figured it's easy enough to upgrade my GPU later, because at this price point, doesn't this serve as a good start? And I can certainly upgrade the motherboard and CPU down the line too when I decide to overclock.

I've changed the build to what therandomness posted, with the exception of the case. So it's a much better configuration I think - no 750Ti :P plus, I'd be cleaning that case to make sure it remains clean. If I do all that, it'd be fine, right?

EDIT: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/7nMC8K That's the new PC for reference.

I could also get this case here: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/NRvZxr/phanteks-case-phes515etgbk

Black and white color scheme could work, I suppose?

The only comment I would make is that, since you aren't going to be overclocking, there's no need to get a huge cooler like the Hyper 212.

You could just use the stock cooler that comes with the i5-6500, or use a small cooler such as a CM Hyper 101i or TX3, etc, which would be quieter and cooler than the stock.

The Hyper 212, being larger and heavier, can put excess strain on the motherboard when the motherboard is mounted vertically, and can cause some damage if the system is dropped or bumped. So, unless you need it, it's better to use a smaller cooler.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD

My vote is for that Evolve case, so long as you are willing to risk glass exposed to the risks of college and travel.

The main problem with white cases is the plastic components yellowing with age.
