I have a school pc with an preinstalled windows version on an hdd which is OEM, which i understand makes it married to my mobo. But my thought was transfering the files from the hdd to an ssd. Would this work since it would be the same computer, just different drives? And what would then be the best way to tackle this? (hard disk duping, imaging etc)

Thank you

Yep all you need to do is clone the HDD onto the SSD. You won't have any issues with Windows licensing.
