Roughly in December i will be building my New gaming PC and i kind of feel lost, so i decided to join these forums ( since i watch every Linus video) and to ask for help.

I will be spending between 1200-1500$ on the build and i have few things that i'm sure of in the build.

CPU -  i7 6700k

RAM - 16 GB but i have no idea what to go with

GPU -  I'm not sure whether i go with 980 or 1070 and which model ?

Case - Nzxt s340 or anything as basic with that kind of window

Cooling - water or Fan?

My room is Light Grey and my desk is IKEA white, and i love green, so i would like my PC to be white/green.

I would appreciate if you guys post a whole build. thank you everyone :D

RAM - Skylake likes faster RAM so i would suggest to go for 2666MHz or higher. G.Skill and Corsair are the best.

GPU - GTX 1070 is a lot better than the GTX 980. As for model go for MSI/Gigabyte/Asus/EVGA.

Case - you can go for NZXT H440. It's bigger and has better airflow.

Cooling - AIO looks better and performs better but is more expensive, but you are getting a pretty good PC so I would go water for that high end PC. Go for either Corsair H110i GT/GTX or NZXT Kraken X61

do you need screens, peripherals etc? will it be used for any other tasks than gaming & light workstation tasks(document writing, youtube etc)?

No, mainly gaming and as you said light workstation, and that price excluding everything else.

This is what I would go for. You can get a 250GB EVO instead to lower the price.

dont listen to anyone about power supplies, tbh it's all just a bunch of bs. I had that power supply for over a year and had no problems and it was quite nice.

I don't think the brand or kind of ssd really matter tbh, I still have my old ssd from my last build and my computer starts up immediately, no waiting for nothing.

Actually the 850 EVO is a lot faster than the V300.

And since it costs less than $1500 if you really want you can get a better case so you can fit a larger water cooler in there if you want and possibly more and sexier looking ram.

And the 2 other posts you posted doesn't cover all the things I said.

Saying "Please read, if you would've read my post I said to switch out a few things." is dumb, no I don't see 2 posts and realise that it is written by the same person, I just see 2 posts.

SSD brands don't matter, but the model does. It is like saying you should buy a GT 730 because of it is Nvidia instead of buying a R9 380. The 850evo will smash your 4 year old Kingston V300.

Extra note:

Pasting your PCCP link from your PC that have stupid errors in them without fixing your mistakes it just mean, you should have learnt from your problems, but instead you are shoving them off to someone else

The main difference is that the GTX 1070 is around 40% faster than the GTX 1060.

Again you aren't reading my posts, I fixed the link a while ago and I said that most things people say about power supplies doesn't matter. I have hands on experience with that PSU and it works fine.

guys whats the main difference between GTX 1060 and 1070?

note: i won't have a 4k monitor, i will be using the pc to game and stream on 50 inch TV

The 1070 is more suited for 1440p the 1060 is more suited for 1080p. Also here is an all white build you could check out. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/NP8Kqk

You didn't fix the link a while ago, you just removed the peripherals and replaced parts with more stupid and/or very expensive stuff.

PSUs do matter, it is what is powering your system, the NEX is very average and very overpriced.

The SSD is sub-par, the 1st edition was okay then Kingston swapped out the flash and made it slower, the 1st edition is out dated and slow and despite of that you are still recommending it.

Why are you now recomending a $140 280mm AIO and a $100 16GB kit of RAM.
