Upgrade for my CPU

Hi guys

I'm looking for a good c CPU so I can let my RX480 Spread its wings, preferably a cheaper one (amd or intel).

I'd say an i5 6500 or better.

Depends, what  are you running now? I'd say if it's an i5/i7 from the 3000 series and onwards you'll probably be fine unless you have a really low end one

Sorry guys I forgot to show current specs, I'm running an AMD A10 7850K at 4.6GHz 16GB Ram and a RX480 8Gb Reference

Anything that is not a dual core for Intel and anything with 6-cores or more on the AMD side! (what motherboard would help us a lot to help you!)

I have an asus fm2+ so that cant help me much. only supports 4 cores

Absolutely not. An i5 4460 would do well enough, you can get the 4590 or 4690 as well if you can. I suggested skylake simply because ddr4 will be sticking around, but ddr3 is still good too.

I heard from a person on reddit he had issues playing BF1 on a i5-4590 so I am not so sure, he may want the K model and OC it to the moon!

That's one game, from a scummy publisher, that's not even released yet. It could be a issue after launch however

The minimum requirement is i5-6600K or FX-6350, yes I know it is weird... o3o (considering in most well optimized games a FX-8350 is equal to a i5 not i7...)

Minimums are arbitrary picks by the devs and aren't actually tested in most cases

I can show you a number of games that required current gen i7s as a "minimum" when an i3 would do just fine for 60 fps. DUN DUN DUUUUIUUNNNNNNNNN

Really? I played ona 4690k and a 770, and whilst my cpu was almost being maxed out I was playing on high/ultra settings
