I have a friend who is giving me a 950 to build my little brother a PC with, but I was wondering something (until I can build him a proper PC). Would it be possible to have the 390 and 950 in my PC at the same time while using them both to run two different instances of CSGO? Like have the 390 render one instance and the 950 run the other?

Possible yes, practical no you'd have to use a virtual machine setup and split the CPU resources between the two seperate setups, like what linus did with the multi gamers 1 cpu rigs

Umm I don't know how you would split the resources on a 6350 since it's 3 modules (2 cores per module but they are linked), as for how to do such a thing I don't know the actual steps since I've had no reason to use a VM.

There is no easy way to do this.

You can use microsoft mutipoint, but you  need windows server(500 bucks)

You can use vm's but you have to reinstall windows

You can use hyper-v, but performance sucks, and you don't need the 950

Does your system support gpu passthrough? What cpu + mobo

Its a standard cpu, so you can run as many vm's as you want. You could run 100 vms if you have enough ram.

It should work.

1 Down load this https://www.citrix.com/downloads/xenserver/product-software/xenserver-70-standard-edition.html

ANd then install it to your main hdd.

2 DOwnload the windows managent console on a seprate system and controll your main system with this.

3.  Under anvanded settings, make it so the main system doesn't have a gpu.

4. Install a vm and give it your main gpu, and give it your keybaord and mouse.

5. Make the second windows vm and give it your other keyboard and mouse and second gpu.

Another quick question, will my system be locked so it always uses VMs or will I be able to enable and disable freely?

If you run xen like that, you will have to re install windows if you want to use it normally.

If you just want to mess around with vm's you can always use hyper-v, which is built into windows 8+ pro

I think I'll just do hyper-v then. This setup wasn't intended to be permanent, as when Zen comes out I'm going to put my current motherboard, cpu, and ram into a PC using the 950 for my brother.

For the cost of a single liscence, it is already better off getting a new pc, for 1year it is over $300USD for the standard, and $700 for the enterprise to get the vGPU support is meant for Nvidia GRID cards.

You can do gpu passthrough with archlinux/kvm which is free, and works with any gpu. Nvidia gtx cards may not work with virtualization since only quadro, or amd cards support it.
