Hello everyone.I have a problem that I cant really solve,I have a Samsung series 7 3d gaming laptop with ati graphics card and the graphics card overheated and broke.so I am attempting to fix it by myself by using the method I saw Linus used in one of his videos on youtube using heat to get the soilders back in place but instead of using an oven I'll use a heat gun.The problem is that all the screws are out but it still won't open. It's like there's something holding it in the middle. So I asked my local computer store how they would open it and they said they had other Samsung laptops before and they couldn't open it even with the tools they had.please help.another question I also have is if it works is it permanent and also if I use a heat gun will it work?

IMHO don't bother with it anymore. You probably will damage it even more, and if the gpu died because of heat, more heat will not help. The method from linus will only work if you have micro cracks on the board. Probably sth within the silicon chip "burned" so no way to fix it.

Here is a video of a very pissed off laptop repairer that found Linus' Video.

This is a follow up to that video saying sorry that he was so pissed off and explaining why he was so pissed off, then adding more info about GPU repairs and his experience.

Here is a video of Linus admitting he was wrong and tries to replace an SMC on a Macbook.

No, putting a GPU into an oven is not going to magically fix it, it isn't the solder that it is causing the graphic card or Laptop to die, the GPU itself or a capacitor near the GPU is being zombiefied so the Graphics Card or laptop turns on again.
