Question about phones and factory reset.

Is this even possible my friend told me that his dad put something on that if someone tries to plug in his phone to a computer it will wipe the phone and the computer is that even possible? if so how would you do it

Like maybe if you programmed both things to do that. but nah

I was thinking about if he made a special app or rooted the phone and  made a app for that.
