Yes. You seriously need an upgrade. I'd recommend the EVGA 750w G2

I would upgrade to a higher quality power supply, yes. Something such as the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2 or the Corsair RM550x would do nicely.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Your PSU won't bottleneck anything other than maybe overclocking headroom. The main issue with the PSU is that it's outdated and "meh" quality wise

It has plenty of headroom already. It's not the best psu but a 6700k and 1080 doesn't pull that much power without an absurdly extreme oc.

Here's an oc'ed 6700k and 1080 pulling 330w from the wall and that's including the inefficiency of the psu. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/nvidia_geforcegtx_1080_overclocking/7.htm

It's got enough wattage but you want a higher quality unit. An EVGA 650GQ is inexpensive and works well enough for your needs. The EVGA GS/GQ/G2/B2 are good choices for ya.

CX psus don't just explode on a regular basis. There are bad units here and there and the reason why there are so many accounts of the psu failing is because of the sheer number of units sold.
