Can I download the update file in a different partition of my storage and then install it? I don't have enough space on C drive.

You won't be able to install it anyway. Remove some stuff from your C: drive.

Click 'learn more' to download the patch as a standalone.

But really, you should just free up space on your C: drive. Windows likes to move stuff around and not having ample space to do so, makes it run slower. Move your documents and downloads and Cloud service target folders to the other drives, run Ccleaner or similar to remove junk and so on.

How much free space do you have? there doesn't need to be 20 gbs, it can download to another drive, but it does some space. I think I was able to update my laptop with 8gbs of space.

 

My laptop is really chaep, and only has a 32gb emmc drive, so i got a 250gb sd card for mass storage.

i got 4 gb space left. the person partitioned my hdd made the C drive with 48 gb :(.  All my doc and downloads are moved to another drive. 44gb is filled with the installation file of games that i have on other drive. there is nothing much i can delete .pc is running slow
