A SplitScreening Device with RPI

I want to take my RaspberryPI and 4 of my devices and create a device that makes those inputs in to a split-screen device could i do this? how?

I don't think the rpi has a single video input, let alone four. Maybe a capture cared controlled by a pi?

Does any of the rpi's IO even have the bandwidth for video streams?

Idek, maybe if you overclocked a pi3, but I doubt it. Capture card is probably the best way to go, but I'm not sure if there's any out there (on a budget at least) that can take more than one video in.

I'm no expert, but I don't think the pi has either the I/O bandwidth nor the processing power to do this sort of thing.

Lol no.. The only remote chance of you getting this to work is as @Hackentosher said, get a USB capture card which would work on a rpi. I doubt there would be any though since the bandwidth required for those things are substantial. USB bus on the rpi is shared with every IO on the board except for GPIO.

 

From your posts I assume you are trying to use the rpi as surveillance camera machine (or whatever that's called)? Hate to break it to you but rpi is a poor choice for that. Unless you want to like.. plug in a few webcams with external power. Even so, the end results would not be great.
