Don't just back down like that! Convince him you can and should build it! How are you going to get anywhere in life if you take no as an answer, when you know you're right? Any prebuilt system, such as the one above, is going to suck bottom compared to a custom built one, because you wont get the exact parts and looks you want it to have.

The ones below me are alright performance wise, you should be aiming to get a GTX 1060 6gb, but they all look a bit weird. You should build one by yourself to gain a bit of knowledge anyway. What happens if a part dies in your PC and you have no idea what to do to replace it? And what will you do when you need an upgrade? Etc, etc.

I mean you could build a GTX 1060 PC for your budget, not a 760!

Or you can buy a prebuilt for $730 with 1060

Building your own PC is an experience you should have as a PC gamer for many reasons. And it's also extremely fun, like searching around on http://pcpartpicker.com/ for parts you like the look of and sticking them all together easily.

And it isn't exactly dangerous or hard, so there's absolutely no logical reason your dad shouldn't let you build one. He should be building one with you as a learning and bonding experience.

Plenty of young people build PCs, show him some videos so he understands how simple it is.

Don't build that one. 16gb of RAM is useless for you, and a DVD drive is too (You can just get an external drive if you really need one). You can get a better processor and case for the cash.

Build this  http://pcpartpicker.com/list/GCTZJV .

It'll be a monster PC. Far, far faster than a PS4 or Xbox One.

If you click edit this parts list, and on case, you can scroll through and find a case that you like the look of. (It automatically filters based on compatibility) then just add it to the build. But in my opinion the one I picked is a great quality case for that price anyway (and it has rgb lights!), here's a video of it.

If you want to go really budget... PC Build

The i3 CPU will bottleneck the GTX 1060 in some games (meaning it'll make the games a bit slower compared to if you had an i5 CPU), but not by too much, and you'll still get really great performance. Just look up i3 6100 + GTX 1060 gameplay.

However this makes your upgrade path a bit more tricky. You wont be able to get a faster graphics card in the future, instead when you save up enough money in a few years (AKA get some for a present) invest in a new CPU over anything else. Kaby Lake or Cannon Lake in the future will mean cheaper CPUs with better performance though when you eventually do upgrade which is good.

He doesn't want a silverstone, he picked the case that he liked and it's perfectly fine. It really wont make much of a difference apart from what looks he likes.

Also the PSU is great quality and will easily power a GTX 1060 too.

Well if he wants to spend the extra cash on something that's statistically unlikely to matter anyway, he can. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/ Probably wont make any difference ever but it's only a few bucks more.
