How much RAM do you have and how much RAM do you need?

Currently have 8, and honestly need at least 32GB, and 64 would be perfect.

I'm up to 24GB. I had 8 before, but 16GB kits were really cheap a while back, and they were the same brand and timings as the old 8GB kit, so I bought it. Only use about 11GB ~12GB at maximum though lol

16gb is minimum if you have high end pc and play new games. Some tend to leak memory and eat up to 6-7 gigs :)

I have 32 but I need more (128+ would be ideal). I'll fill up 32GB RAM + a 50GB pagefile running a modest dataset (250k points with ~30 metrics ea) through a machine learning program I'm working on. For Adobe stuff I'll occasionally use up 20-30GB and for games I never use more than 16 (usually <10).

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

I have 4gb on my ancient HP with AMD phenomx4./vista machine

Chrome chokes it to death (I like a lot of tabs open)

 

New Rig will have 32gb with a 6700k and win 10, because I dont want to hit a bottleneck for a while.
