Yeah the upload is a bit slow but somehow I manage to do the same with 750Kb/s.

Yes, should be fine. The biggest draw on that would be the netflix streaming, but with 200Mbps it should be more than capable of supporting all that and more.

What's your budget? There are a million different routers. Many of which would work totally fine with your connection - from cheap sub $100 options, to awesome nuclear powered $300+ options.

 

I like to recommend the TP-Link Archer C7 (Seriously, second time today I've recommended it lol) - you can usually find it for $100 USD, and often on sale for less. It's a really solid router, with some great features.

Do you already have the modem, or will you be needing to buy one within that $200 budget?

 

If so, the Archer C7 + something like an Arris SB6141 (Assuming you have DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Internet) would be a great combination.

 

You should be able to get both of them together for under $200 USD.

So are there any other options? I saw on one Asus router it had some thing that made some sort of special connection so certain games like league of legends will get the stuff faster. I can provide you with a link to that router if you want but I'm not getting it cus it's expensive af I just want something with a similar technology to that.

Any router that has "This will make your game faster!" features, are generally marketing fluff only. In practice, it won't make your League of Legends connection faster - at least not by any degree that will matter.

 

Forget about that kind of feature, and look at price and specs, and other actually useful features.

To be honest, if you're getting a similar priced ASUS Router, it'll likely be just as good as the Archer C7. Both are excellent brands. If we're talking consumer grade, that one you linked is probably one of the top end ones.

 

Enterprise grade, a "router" is not the same thing as you think. In the business world, they tend to split the functions up:

 

Router (Or a Layer 3 switch)

Switch (Managed, usually Layer 2)

Access Point (WIFI)

If you want something that can pump out gigE speed, setup a pfsense box with atleast a dual core, 1.8ghz processor, and your golden.  This is a real firewall distro so you are going to need to know what your doing.  Its not like logging into a linksys and clicking on the glorified options.
