I've overclocked plenty of times and i'm very familiar. I'm in the process of overclocking a 6600k and its a tuffy.

all of the cores will hit 4.3Ghtz perfectly. but when 4.4 hits... for some reason core #4 gets errors in  Prime95 and stops running that worker every time.

so I popped in the bios and for the first time i'm overclocking core-specifically, so i've got core #1 @4.4Ghtz, 2@4.8, 3 @4.8, and 4@4.3... or at least thats what i've set. CAM shows my cpu is running at 4.3Ghtz. CPU-z shows its running at 4.4.. so do you know of any program I can use to see core-specific speeds??

CPU-Z shows Core #0 by default. If you want to see the other cores, right click anywhere in the information window with the CPU tab selected.

do prime95 again but monitor all cpu temps. core, die etc. if one of them is significantly higher then its a temp isue, also make sure u have a decent power suply and a mobo with good voltage regulators for the cpu. the tiniest difference in power stability can cause your cpu to struggle.
