Just try and see.....eh, no, hear for yourself. I had a HD555, did the foam mod which turned my HD555 to effectively a HD595 (it is such a simple mod that even a noob like me did it quite easily). It IS reversible if you don't like what you hear, but honestly speaking, I couldn't hear a difference between a stock and foam modded HD555. Perhaps if I'd had two pairs of HD555's, I could have A/B'ed them and hear the difference but I'm not one of those special peep who can remember a sound before the mod and compare it to the sound after the mod.
