Yeah I mean I get all of that and appreciate it! So do I just wrap the led around my case and wire everything out to an outlet on my wall or is there anyway I can use the power from my psu?

ohhhh, ok makes more sense now lol

yah just throw that led in there and run the cable for the power out he back maybe, but no easy way to do it on the pc. I have peeled off the sticky part on the back so make sure you are getting off the plastic only also.

The power adapter puts out 12V 3A. If your power supply can spare 3A on 12V (36W), you could put together a Molex or SATA to barrel plug connector yourself. Assuming your PSU has standard black = ground and yellow = 12V wire colors, you'd connect black to the outside/barrel pin of the plug, and yellow to the inner pin.

Or ModDIY has some premade adapters for a few bucks a pop. They're labeled "Gridseed" because they're marketed for coin mining whatsits, but they adapt the 12V and ground to a 2.1 mm barrel jack.

Molex: http://www.moddiy.com/products/Molex-4%2dPin-to-Gridseed-Power-Plug-(2.1mm-DC-Barrel-Plug).html

SATA power: http://www.moddiy.com/products/SATA-to-Gridseed-Power-Plug-(2.1mm-DC-Barrel-Plug).html

You can probably find similar all over Amazon.

If you want to power it from the PC you will require a molex to DC barrel adapter which you can purchase online or make.
