Help with Unity 3D?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

watch some time lapse videos on youtube of people making terrain. Even if they don't use unity.

Many use real life images of landscapes to model their work after. For instance, if you want to make a forest with a stream, go into a forest and look for a stream. Take some pictures and model the area around your pictures.

Here's a general example of what I mean:

I'm not a 3D modeller or texturer, but I do know my way around Unity. I'm leaving for now though, I'll be able to help you tomorrow though maybe

I'm just having trouble making noise on my terrain. I don't want to pay for a terrain noise brush, and I don't want to individually place flaws on the terrain. I don't want unrealistic perfect hills, I want them to be bumpy and realistic.

When you use Unity that's what you have to do. You buy stuff to make stuff that no one will buy because they can tell it was bought. I hope you're just doing it as a hobby and didn't actually pay to study it. :P

You could generate the terrain in Blender using the ANT Landscape tool, and then import it into Unity.

Very brief documentation can be found here: https://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Add_Mesh/ANT_Landscape

If you look for ANT Landscape you will also find video tutorials on YouTube.
