So what is the answer?

GTX 1070

Yes. Your cpu is more than enough, and palit is a great deal atm.

So I have recently been dying over which graphics solution to pick for my PC.

I was wondering wether I should buy 2x rx480 aftermarket editions (msi)  or 1070 (msi) or 1x 1080 (msi) as I live in Singapore and I would need a 700-850USD gpu solution.

Fyi they do have all the aftermarket editions and all of the different types of cards here so buying would not be a problem.

Any suggestions on which option!

Always go for a better single gpu rather than 2 weaker ones.

So 1070/80.

Either the GTX 1070 or 1080, depending on your system, what games you want to play, and how long you want the card to last for. If you are able to spring the cash, then the 1080, if your system is good enough to make good use of it.

Never go sli/xfire when a more powerful single card is available, as for which between the 1070 and 1080 idk, depends on what you want resolution and fps wise.

Don't go dual rx 480, higher power consumption, stuttering issues and most games don't scale much or at all. Instead, go with the palit gtx 1070 dual, convergent now selling for $555 at lazada/sim lim, great deal(other gtx 1070s start at mid-high $600).

If everygame had 100% scaling and flawless crossfire support i would sat 2 rx480, sadly that is not the case and a single 1070 will in games outclass the 480 xfire if xfire support is poorly implemented

I totally agree with having a more powerful single card then sli or xfire but unfortunatley a 1080 in SG costs around 1250sgd = 924usd which is a heck of a lot of money compared to the 1070 which is 830sgd or the 2x rx480 = 960 sgd.

If the 1080 is out of budget, then get a 1070, its still a very powerful card.

How? I'm not sure how a GTX 1070 would affect CPU performance unless you're talking about a GPU bottleneck.

Never heard of this one before. Is it the 5820k/6850k? Won't bottleneck if it is(i7 and above cpu won't bottleneck).

Im afraid its doesnt work like that. Weak CPU can bottleneck GPU but not other way around. If anything, GTX1070 would be working to its full potential.

Hence, a bottleneck.

Since you're playing at 1440p and likely to be more GPU-bound for the most part (unless you're playing some CPU-intensive games such as Cities: Skylines or ARMA 3), you won't have to worry about the CPU at all. You want your GPU to be working as hard as possible and your CPU as little.

Doesn't exist. I'm assuming you meant the i7 5820K or i7 6850K.

yes sorry the 6850k

Can one la, even gtx 1080 SLI shouldn't bottleneck. Recommend you hoot the $555 gtx 1070 if you can.

Of course it can. And that's the scenario most people are actively looking for when discussing "bottlenecks" in this forum.

I dont think so. Forums are flooded with questions if their older CPUs will in any way bottleneck their brand new powerful GPUs, Not if the GTX1070 will bottleneck their hexa-core i7 CPUs

You didn't understand. I didn't say people are worried about their CPUs being "bottlenecked". I said people are trying to make sure their CPUs are "bottlenecked".

Because that's how they define the absence of a CPU "bottlenecking" a GPU.
