You probably should get another PC unless you're on a tight budget, those components look quite dated

Desktop: i7-6700K / Asus Z170 S / H100i V2 / LPX 2400Mhz 16GB / 960 EVO 250GB / 2x 860 EVO 500GB / RM750i  / NZXT H440 XB271H + Z22n Monitors

Laptop: Thinkpad T450s / i7-5600U / 12GB / 860 EVO 500GB

What is the specs?

What is your PSU? I see it isn't stock. Do you still have the stock PSU and what is the Wattage and OEM?

What is your budget?

change everything, no offense i mean the core2quad is still capable but if u could upgrade everything but i think mainly just upgrade the gpu if ur on a tight budget and maybe a cheap 10-15$ case, that case is rusty and not so pretty

Motherboard and CPU are quite old, I don't think it's worth upgrading: you would get much better performance with a brand new computer.

Maybe you could keep GPU and PSU and use them to build the new one.

Since the Q6600 is still fairly capable, I'd just keep it until you can buy a better PC altogether.

but what type of motherboard should i use if i will stay in that processor??

Just keep the one you have. No point in upgrading it if it works.

You're limited to 8GB if you're using a 64-bit OS.

May i suggest that you also take everyting out of the case and only leave the metal and go outside with some soap and clean it, cuz all that dust and crud can cause static and its just nasty!

Please Quote so i know you have replied. | If we have provided a solution to your problem mark it with answer found.

And also please read the COC and avoid the embarrassment and lecture that will ensue.
