I have to admit, I always stay away from prerelease hype in order to avoid dissapointment, but this is one hell of a game coming.

Can't wait to watch it on youtube because my pc won't handle it :(

I am excited for this game but I still haven't finished Witcher 3. After 150h gameplay I just got to Skelige Island.

Having a larger team than Project Red doesn't say much, as Witcher 3 was actually made by a relatively small team and on a low bugdet... They simply just did a amazing job at making that game.

The only information I've seen about this game is it's name, a cool-but-cheesy cinematic trailer, and a lot of internet excitement and hype about it. Am I missing some huge trove of information about what the actual game will be like, that everyone else already knows about? Or is the hype just because it's another big CDPR game?

I don't mean to be a downer, I believe The Witcher 3 is one of the best games I've ever played. But that's a conclusion I reached by actually knowing things about the gameplay. :P

No there isn't. The reason behind the excitement( or at least mine) is that the game is based on a legendary pen and paper RPG that pretty much defined what cyberpunk is. Also they are working with the creator ( Mike Pondsmith) of the original RPG which to me means that they are putting some effort into keeping the original feeling and concept of the game alive.

My main concern about it is the possibility that they add some weird game mechanic into it that just doesn't play the way they might think it does.

Each to their own. I don't think i would have ever finished Witcher 3 myself, the universe was too boring for me but this is much closer to what I like.

The fact that CD Projekt Red made 3 amazing Witcher games is enough for me. Hope they nail this aswel.

I think the main danger on this game is that language system they talked about. If it works just as a way of unlocking npcs it's fine, but if it is more than that and it becomes a hindrance in exploring the universe of the game and living the story it might get bad

Yes I agree Witcher 3 has good combat for a medieval setting but for a game with modern guns it needs to be more streamlined as third person shooting. I also hope they don't go with something like VATS or whatever it's called from Fallout 4 because that would completely destroy immersion. Something in between.

Yes that's what I hope too. There are so many ways they can screw this... obligatory multiplayer etc would probably suck. But a co op mode hosted client-side without any central servers would be are very welcome addition. I don't think I have any friend that will be playing this but I would definitely want to do that

What I mean is if they decide to add some sort of weird npc interaction system where you have to go out of your way and do different things depending on the language , it might get just too much for me and become annoying.

What I would like to see is npcs that you don't own a language pack for show gibberish on their dialogues or even being hostile. Could add in terms of factions and immersion.

So you mean you don't want what's in mostly every other "modern" RPG which is dialogue choices ?

They have already said that there is a language system. What I want from that is to enrich the dialogue system by letting you unlock characters and stories as you progress. I don't want it to turn npc interaction into some weird "hacking" minigame( which would in theory fit the setting but I don't think it would play well in a game).

You do realise this isn't the same people who brought us Deus Ex, but those who brought the Witcher series where unlockable dialogue is a thing ?
