Make it possible to delete posts completely

People have asked for that option many times.

 

Just report it to us and we'll remove it whenever a staff member sees it.

No - it would have the potential for abuse, if someone posted something offensive/etc then the post was removed before anyone could report it, and could also lead to people deleting their question after it has been answered, which is something that we would like to discourage. If you would like your post to be removed, report it explaining why and a moderator will do it for you.

The option to make it invisible to anyone but mods and above with abuse being punished would also not be worth considering?

We rely heavily on users to report content to us that violates our requirements. Most of the time, I see none of the posts that violate our requirements unless someone deliberately sends us a report.

You could also make a "Deleted posts" folder in a topic that only mods and above can see.

I always forget the high frequency of posts in here. Makes it impossible to properly overlook this then ofcourse.

What if, it was like it takes 24 hours for it to be invisible to users, if this is offensive report now.

At that point, it's just much easier for you to report the post and let us hide it.
