yeah, you don't need a sound card and for that cost you might as well go X99

But isnt the Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard better than the X99?

no x99 gives you the ability to get a 10 core cpu. I went with a 6 core over the 4 core in your build

but why is the Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard more expensive?

it is a top end z170 board designed for lots of overclocking and is loaded with features most people don't use

Does the X99 have a m.2 slot and does it have liquid nitrogen cooling  jk about the liquid nitorgen

it does and it does support liquid nitrogen cooling but you may want a better mobo if you plan on that

that is fine but you are going back to z170 over x99

I see in all tests that the 6700k, even being quad-core, is the best for gaming right now. Although I'm going x99 cause I like the boards(high end) better and I didn't want to be stuck at 4-cores for future upgrades. and also sound cards are close to useless
