Delete a partition that has windows

Hey, so I just restore my OLD computer. So, the first time i boot it again, it was fine but it was super bloaty. So what I did, I installed windows again but windows xp installed it on another partition. Now I have 2 partition with windows. Now, i want to format the partition that has bloated windows but I have no idea how to do it. Please help if you know what to do, and thanks

windows cannot find 'diskgmt.msc' when im trying to open it from run

cant format it because it's a "system" volume

you can use disk part in cmd.

You can use diskpart to remove the partition. If you need help feel free to ask.

 

On the final step: "delete partition override"

i know, but what command should i type

Win + R

"cmd"

"diskpart"

"list disk"

"select disk #" #= the disk you need

"list partition"

"select partition #" # = the partition you need

"delete partition override" if it has Windows.

If you want to wipe the drive back to zeroes: "clean all"

 

Note: You will need to have Windows on another drive in order for this to work properly.

Are you booting off of that drive?

Then you need to boot off a different drive then delete that one. You shouldn't delete the drive that your booted from.

Windows will not be able to complete the deletion if it's gone.

From what I have understood, you want to delete the system partition that you are currently using? Am I right? Then you can't do it using diskmgmt when you are booted to that drive. You should insert your OS installation disk and delete all the partitions there. That should solve your problem.

no, ANOTHER partition (not another disk) that has windows in it,
