So I know linus kinda brushed over this slightly is a previous video , ( 5 important tips for PC building  ) But i am still curious because he wasnt very Precise. So basically he said Magnetic Screwdrivers are quite handy and useful, And while i Completely Agree when making my PC and even Replacing dead Hard drives I have never used Magnetic Screwdrivers to remove them from the Drive Cage. So i am wondering if i am just being paranoid and nothing can harm them, but since we are on the topic as well,

The Ifixit Kit  ( pro tech toolkit) comes with a magnetic Pad and every time i travel with my Portable hard drive or laptop  i am always very worried i might accidentally damage it. ( wireless chargers also say they wipe credit cards so i keep that far as well)

So my question is , Should i be this cautious about my hard drives or are they More robust than i think and can handle small magnets.

They aren't anywhere near powerful enough to cause any problems to the drive, while not recommended if one were to have magnets right on the drive themselves they don't have any issues with it.

Screwdrivers and small household magnets will not harm your hard drive. Of course, if you try hard enough, you will eventually get some data corruption with a modest size magnet. You could even stick that magnet onto the side of your case to have your favorite pizza place number on hand.

Here is a little thing about magnets and PCs. This is quite extreme, but nevertheless entertaining.

Small magnets won't do any harm. You need something like a Degausser to wipe data off the HDD
