I'm not totally sure but is material design suppose to be default in 53.x? It can still be changed back in chrome://flags though.

 

I tried it with material in 51.x or 52.x and I was mixed, good to see that I can still keep the normal look of Chrome if it's suppose to be that by default.

Well I just sort of answered my own question with a Google search, I guess it is suppose to be defaulted to the material design. I suppose I'll try to get used to that on Windows. Don't get me wrong, I like the material design.

Thank goodness I can change it back. Don't know why they felt the need to change that.
