My gtx 960 just died, so i'm looking to upgrade to a gtx 970 or a cheap gtx 1060.

My current rig is running a xeon e5450 @3ghz with the lga 775 mod. I have 8gb of ram down-sped to 1333ghz, because of my outdated mobo.

I'm not sure if either of these cards would cause bad bottlenecks or not while running games like GTAV, No Man's Sky or Overwatch.

They will bottleneck pretty bad, even the 960 was most likely bottlenecked by that cpu, an i3 6100, or fx 6300 would be the minimum to handle those cards.
