CPU doesn't fold

My GPU is folding nicely but for nearly a week now (maybe more don't check that often) my CPU has been reporting as "ready" but never actually starts folding.

I have tried stopping folding waiting a bit then restarting but the CPU still only reports as "ready" it never actually folds.

What can I do to start the CPU folding?

Feel free to ask me to post anything, not to daft sure on what I am doing so words of one syllable please.

Does the CPU have a work unit? It looks like it's selected and showing a work unit that it hasn't started. What is your CPU?

Doesn't appear so .

That 45 attempts worries me.

It's an Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz .

Try to set the cpu threads to 6 and see

what happens. Could also try posting

the log here, so we can see if we find

anything interesting.

Nothing at the mo'. Even when it was working didn't note what was GPU and what was CPU

Weird, as it was working a week/month or so ago with CPU at the default -1

I would suggest shutting down F@H for a little while and rebooting. It could be that you are connected to a work server that doesn't have any CPU work units, rebooting should find you one with work. Alternatively you could try deleting the slot for the CPU and recreating it with the -1 parameter some time later. That may have the same effect and not let you lose your work on your GPU.

Bit late, but I'd set CPU Threads to 8 on my 8320 and CPU folded started to work.

It would, but the gpu's need some

cpu resources to feed them to

work effectively. This even moreso

when using an nvidia gpu.

You will be losing out on overall

performance and ppd if you starve

your gpu. If you aren't gpu folding

at all though, you can go all in

with your cpu.
