Hi,

Have a couple of questions the community could help me out with.

Currently I am looking to buy a cheap 1u rack mountable Dell system, I am only looking to run FreeNAS and a couple of TB at the most on it. Nothing special or intensive at all. (I currently use a WD Mycloud)

Generally, would these older Xenons be alright running the OS and so on.

Cheers.

My home server and main rig both use Xeons. The server has 2 X5550's, and the workstation has 2 E5-2670's. Here's a video I made a little bit ago about choosing prebuilt servers used.
