Hmmmmm...okaaaaayyyy : p sketchy but interesting

You can still get a free upgrade from an activated 7 or 8/8.1 install, how it was activated is of no importance. The upgrade advisor trusts KMS activations to make the deployment on networks easier.

You can get it free and legitimately, sort of ;)

Not anymore? The free 1 year upgrade period is over.

Unless you mean this loophole that Microsoft should've disabled by now ?

So even if he upgrade today from Win7/Win8/8.1, it won't activate Win10.

Other than that, simply upgrading from Win7/8/8.1 will not activate Win10.

The upgrader is still downloadable, it ran fine and thanked me for upgrading to Windows 10, although I already had it.

If you upgrade win10 on a machine that you had already upgrade it previously, it will still work because it was already activated during the free period.

The "upgrader" itself doesn't activate Windows, it's the Microsoft servers that do.
Some report that by setting their system dates to before July 28, they can still activate with digital entitlement, though that seems strange that it would work...

In any case, a method that should still work is that loophole I posted before, by upgrading using that link in particular.

I feel like microsoft owe me, I cant think of why right now, but they owe me a free download.......... Yeah.

Crysis 1 problems on windows 7, you owe us for that bill

You had a year to get Windows 10 for free damn it. As for the Crysis issues, blame the devs of that game, not Microsoft.

You can go to Kinguin which is a bit controversial based on Windows 10 purchases but from what I've heard and seen you can get legit and safe copies from there for about ~$20 for the Home Edition and around ~$30 for Professional. You can also pay an extra dollar for buyer protection on the rare chance something is wrong with the copy for Kinguin to help you. If not your best bet is to just get it from Newegg for $100 for Home and $120 for Pro, you can also go to Best Buy or any other tech store with price matching/checking for the exact same price as Newegg if you price check it.

I would get the Pro edition, and not the Home edition, because you may want the additional control over OS updates, Windows Defender, system messages, and many other aspects of the OS that is not available in the Home edition, but is available in the Pro edition, using Edit Group Policy.
