I just got laptop for my girlfriend, and I did clean install of Windows 10 with latest updates/drivers and everything.

It works just fine, and the only problem is with VLC playing video.

Some weird sqaures will appear and it's realy annoying. Already tried to use DDU for clean install of drivers, but same thing all over again.

It's using Intel HD graphic.

Also attaching picture of the problem.

Weird.  May I suggest https://mpc-hc.org/

I used to be die-hard VLC but I've moved on :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Does this occur with all media files? If so, are the media files all .mp4 or are they .avi?

If they are all .mp4 try a .avi file

Apart from that, if you would like a new program I can recommend Zoom Player Free because you can do just about anything only with your mouse.

Well it's laptop for my gf, and she wants to use VLC because she's used on it.

In other players it works just fine, but she want to use VLC lol

Try disabling accelerated video output.

That way we can determin if the Intel graphics are at fault.

I already tried to do that, and it was still the same.

Do you think that intel GPU could be faulty? I mean it's brand new laptop with i3 4005U CPU inside.

Only tested .avi so far.

Well I was looking at i3 4005U specs and it shouldn't have any problems with playing videos even at 1440p.

But movies that she downloaded are max to 3GB size, so not even 720p. And screen resolution is 1366x768. So that realy should work just fine.
