I say avoid the 1060 3GB, but the RX 470/480 4GB or 1060 6GB are all valid choices depending on your games! (if you do not have Windows 10 my vote goes for 1060 6GB)

Depends on the price difference in your country, mine had the 480 at around $50+ more so yeah, 1060 was the way to go and part of the reason I went for it is that they can both 60 fps my games at 1080p anyway so I just chose the cheapest one and besides, I'm selling it when volta/polaris comes so future proofing and all that fun stuff doesn't really apply to me.

I see that you already have a reference 480, may I know why you're selling it? Does temps/noise bother you? Apart from that, what resolution do you play on and how much does a 8GB 480 cost? And what's the current fps on your game?

For the temperature, here are a couple of reddit links that discuss their own 480 and 1060 temps:

But temps really shouldn't be your deciding factor between these two since GPUs can handle those temps anyway, I would just worry about the noise.

 

If you're purely gaming, I guess the 480 would be your best bet since they're around the same price. You can buy another one and crossfire them in the future when you get a higher resolution monitor. I just picked the 1060 since it was way cheaper and I plan to develop games on Unreal 4 and i'm gonna be using physx. You can't go wrong with either one though but I just think the 480 offers way more future proofing and potential upgrade in the future.

It is very Loud like 75 percent of the fan speed all the time in game
