What do you think of this, any good?
If I got the parts myself, and used heatsinks I have on hand, I could build it for about $100.

Worth it?
Any good?

Does it need to be DIY?

If you're looking to DIY then search up some other schematics online and just buy the individual parts. It's not too difficult to make a decent amp that can do 100 W+

Personally I would save myself the hassle and buy something like this

Image result for part express sure amp

They are pretty cheap, deliver tons of power, and have very good A/B or D class efficiency.

Obviously building something like this yourself is a bit out of reach...

DIY is usually cheaper. That Amp Camp Amp is designed by a famous amp guy, and its supposed to be good.... but IDK.

What are your suggestions?

Yeah sure it might be good but unless you have some thousand dollar speakers in perfectly designed cabinets in an acoustically designed room, you will notice no difference.

I read the web page and it seems like a lot of marketing and words to make a simple low-power amp cost $250.

Amps like the one I showed can do hundreds of watts, and only cost like $20-60. The quality from them is extremely good too.

If you want to DIY, just look up some schematics that have been tested, but make sure you build for the right wattage of your speakers.

I've looked into DIYing some crossovers for myself, and tbh it isn't any cheaper than buying the whole thing already assembled on a PCB.

Yeah, I just bought a DTA-2 class T amp for like $20 for a pair of tiny speakers I'm building.

15W per channel is actually enough to run 30W RMS rated speakers...

amp boards are typically a lot cheaper than dedicated amplifiers since they have no casing or special IO or whatever.

What exactly are you trying to power with an amplifier?

I have a pair of Omega speakers, little info about them, 4 ohms, 94db sensitivity.

They cost probably $500 ish in 2005 ish when they were made.

I want to try something different than my receiver, just see if there is any improvements of any sort.
