I just got 2 256gb SK HYNIX SC300 for £90/$119

Was this a good deal?

BTW they are both new but without packaging

Don't know the drive but under $60 a piece is good for that size ssd.

I am a paid professional, but only when I am at work...and getting paid.

yeah thats a pretty decent deal, thats like $60 a pop while here they are around $90 a pop on ebay

Depends on the quality of the drive. Most budget SSDs are around that pricepoint, but an 850 Evo for example is $90 for a 256GB

Looking at the review I just keep being amazed at how Samsung was able to pull miracles out of TLC with the 850 EVO. The Sandisk Ultra II stands out as well.

That sounds low, especially for an MLC drive, but consider this:

  • it's way more than you'll likely ever use
  • Most drives will run way beyond their rated capacities without issue
