Finished my parts list yesterday and am basically ready to purchase my parts.  But before I take the plunge, I was hoping to get some thoughts on my rig to make sure I'm either A) not making any fatal mistakes, or B) possibly missing out on something that will make this build better and/or even cost less!  This will be running on an ultrawide 1080p monitor that I've already purchased.  The current price listed is pretty much my max, but if there is a better part that would require maybe $10-20 more that could improve this build, I may consider.

I would also recommend getting the Founder's edition (or any other blower style cooler) for mITX builds.

Only issue here is the pricing of the Founder's edition.  The one I have here (which supposedly was made for ITX cases) puts this card in a better price point for me without sacrificing that 6700K (I play games like Civ as much as I do games like Fallout).

Okay, the cooling shouldn't be too bad, just a little warm.

It will still be better than founders... Reference coolers are shit and people need to stop even thinking about recommending them in all but the most extremely limited airflow cases... This is a VERY LARGE itx build. There is no reason to buy a blower card.

1- Don't expect much OC on that board, it only has a 4 pin power connector, an basic power delivery design, and no cooling (vrm heatsinks) for it.

2- Get a full size GPU, a normal size one (instead of the mini itx) will fit on that case (max 330mm), this way you get better cooling (better OC), and less noise.

3- Get a better PSU, gold doesn't mean quality, just efficiency. A EVGA G2 for example, has much better internal components.

If it's a larger build then fine, but I can think of reasons one would be better with a blower cooler, like smaller ITX builds.

Except that even in a node 202 with relatively isolated air chambers a reference model preforms worse than a open air gpu. Proven.

So as mentioned by @ForsakenLive the three big deals are the mobo/gpu/psu. While none of them are really awful, you might better off moving up a bit. In exchange, you can trim a bit of cost off the SSD/HDD/RAM (although I didn't swap ram), and you can save a huge chunk of money buying Win 10 not from a store.

https://www.reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap/comments/4zjn2i/h_windows_10_7_8_81_servers_office_visio_project/

I have done this numerous times without any issue (sadly prices have gone up a little bit since I've done it, but alas it's still way better.)

This allows the modifications to mobo and gpu to come in at a net identical price to your original build.

1- How much more would a better board be?

2- As I've mentioned, this is basically the only way I can get a GTX 1070, so I'm willing to work with slight heating issues and noise.

3- I'll quote the one I mentioned earlier as I may use that one since it is the same price.

see above. Basically it will fit but you have to do some finagling.

Shit psu, i would say go evga g2, p2, t2. you dont need a gtx 1070 for 1080p and that motherboard is shit for overclocking (3-4 VRM only and that also with out heatsinks), i would say go asus and mod the motherboard for colour neutrality.

That windows 10 price is great, so thanks for that!!!

I did just make one small change with the PSU for the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550w since that one is $20 cheaper (around the same price as the original 650w I had).  Will that work?

I do like that board idea, but this is my first build, so modding isn't something I'm necessarily comfortable with right now.  Someday maybe though!

Yea my more recent edit had that, as I was finishing the pc link, it looked like the price of the RMx 650 reset (it was 69.99 when I first loaded it in.) That 550 G2 psu is exactly what I went with.
