What games would be limited by a 4gb vram on a gpu and what exactly happens if its not enough?

Currently use 2gb vram on games like doom and eso but the fps is so low 30-40ish on high settings anyway so i dont really now if its the vram or the card.

Currently, you're getting low FPS because the 750ti is just simply out dated for the latest games, higher amounts of VRAM For example 8GB/12GB whatever, don't take in affect until higher resolutions, for me, I think 4GB is the perfect amount for 1080P

4gb is fine for 99% of things 99% of the time epsecially for 1080p and 1440p

really only need more for things like 4k etc or a handful of demanding games at 1440p

4GB is the minimum nowdays. If you don't use AA - it's enough. If you want proper AA - 6GB is recommended

its all depends on the settings and your resolution.

however, having not enough VRAM is disaster. u'ill get low fps incredibly low performance.

Alright so a rx470 4gb wouldnt be screaming for vram on games like gta v on ultra. Another question would be get reference 480 4gb or asus strix rx470 4gb.

buy AIB Gpu if u want to buy the 480.

I realise that the reference is abit of a bad idea. But the price is right.. Strix 470 is $439, reference 480 4gb $449. Pretty sure drivers fixed the pcie power draw problem.

also this is really at budget limit so i cant afford +50 and everything else is out of stock anyway basicly apart from reference 8gb for $499

If you plan to keep the card for at least a couple of years. Better wait a couple of week and get a AiB card.

AiB cards run much cooler and quieter. It's night and day difference.

That's not likely to happen. Actually, it's not possible as every motherboard now uses 5 +12V pegs rather than the specified 4.

Unless you are running an archaic motherboard, the PCIe draw is NOT able to kill anything. PCIe specs only list 4 +12V pegs BUT modern boards use 5 +12V pegs.

Yes it would be. Having more VRAM is bettter than not having enough. Those cards are likely to benefit from having 6-8GB as they can push the settings on modern games and result in 4-6GB of VRAM usage.

Yes they did release the driver to fix it, or maybe suppose to fix it.
the card was Off-specs and got their PCIE SIG revoked.

just be patient and keep saving your money, u may get the 1060 instead.

You do realise that Bitcoin mining is a power virus similarly to furmark and forces much more power through a GPU than any normal application is capable of? Also, keep in mind that they could have been using some 10$ board from 2006.

So the rx 480 is pretty much a problem.

Not really? Plenty of people have used the RX 480 reference without issue. There were over 5000 reference models ordered. Not a single dead board was confirmed.
