Messaging without App.

Ok , I understand this question probably seems stupid, however, I'm going to ask it anyway. Any Input would be appreciated.

What I'm Looking for: I want to find an "app" or website, or whatever you'd like to call it, which me and my friend (me on windows/android) and her on iOS(Safari only: CANNOT INSTALL AN APP FOR THIS) can chat, IM/Send files/pictures etc. So similar to something like Kik, without the need for a cell phone (Just an iOS iPod).

To reiterate, I have an Android Smartphone and a Windows PC. My friend only has an iPod on Wi-Fi ,however it cannot install apps for reasons. But we can do things in Safari on her end and Chrome on mine.

Thanks.

You can set the user client to desktop. The screen will be a bit cramped and a bit hard to use, as the site is only semi responsive, but it works.I just tested it.

This bypassing of the Messenger App seems kind of sketchy, in my book.

How is it sketchy? you're not jailbreaking,
I mean, if you don't really need the messenger you can wait this out but you have been presented with AT LEAST 1 working solution (perhaps 2 if the discord method is correct) and you don't seem overly interested??

I'm looking for something stable, something simple that I can just point my friend to a webpage that she can log in and then chat. This has to exist somewhere.

Well there's plenty of online chatrooms sites... Not to mention things like IRC which I believe you can access on mobile too, by using online sites such as
https://kiwiirc.com

where you create a private channel.

Let's spell this out very clearly:

If you log into facebook.com (the mobile website), you can go to the message tab. You will be greeted with a popup that says "Messages are moving to Messenger" but there is a little x in the corner that you can click to continue to use the messaging part of the mobile website. Every time the message pops up, you can click the x in the corner to dismiss it.

They made the switch just recently. If you try to open facebook messages in your browser it just opens the play store page of the messenger app.
