Keybord, mouse and monitor is not part of this build, Up untill this point he has been using a "acer aspire V" laptop, but now he wants to be "gaming" so the 1070 is a must for him. and ocf he wants a "cool" looking rig -.-''

 

Now to my question, what parts can I downgrade or upgrade, what gives more bang for the buck so to say.

Maybe get a hyper 212 cpu cooler as i think it is a bit cheaper and it is really good!

Get a z170 Motherboard if you are going to get an K series CPU

The above is what I picked and made better from your list... gone a bit overbudget, but it's a much better PSU, motherboard is now z170 for about same price and you can overclock the 6700k, better RAM, swapped the 1070 for the ROG strix version, same price about. If you really need to stick to budget, I would maybe not bother with OC if it's just for gaming build anyway and get something like this  http://pcpartpicker.com/list/7pJ78K 

Just swapped the 6700k for non k, motherbpard for H170 and has added wifi, and cooler to a hyper 212 instead that should be able to keep that non k cool enough for sure, rest of parts are as my previous build and good quality for price.. hope that helps

Also i would reccomend that he get a Mid tower case as a full tower is very large and odds are he wont even use up all of the space

I didn't bother with the case, not my taste for sure but people like what they like... so left the case as it was in original build, but IMO I owuld just get a thermaltake v21.

You want a Z170 board to get the best out of that cpu.

The psu isn't great either.

 

A 550W is fine for a single gpu setup. If you want to stay under $1300 then you can go with a cheaper cpu cooler.

I don't usually look at MIR as it is not something I am that familiar with. I see a lot of people say they are not worth the bother. Of course if the op is willing to do a rebate then yeah the Corsair is the better option.

Thanks for all the expertise, just pushed the order button, ended up with a h105 insted of the noctua and upgraded to a 250gb ssd, my friends dad was kind to push in some extra money and it ended up all good
