Maui Coconut Porter

I've decided to start a beer review channel, because it's so much easier, cheaper and more fun than technology! I won't post these here regularly, but if there's any beer lovers out there I thought I'd link my more recent video reviewing the Maui Coconut Porter from Hawaii!

 

 

Pros

• Silky smooth texture
• Prominent cocoa, milk chocolate and subtle coffee and nuts
• Bursts of coconut
• A porter you can drink by the pool. Kind of. On a Winter's day.

Cons

• Not enough coconut. Is inconsistent. What coconut is there is delicious, but it needs MORE!
• Impossible to obtain where I am
• Don't like the can design

Conclusion

If it was a bit easier to access here, I would likely have a 4-pack in the fridge quite often. Truly excellent porter, but as it is, it's not enough coconut flavour to justify importing.

I have an insane love for porters, so this was a great video to watch!

If you can get a hold of Phillips Chocolate Porter, I highly recommend it.

It's very similar to the chocolatey flavors you've reviewed here, but a little more rich in cocoa and less sweet.

@kirashi Glad you enjoyed the video. There aren't any beer Youtubers I enjoy watching so am trying to be one!

 

I'll have to try it next time I'm in Vancouver. My importer can't get it yet - but I do love Chocolate Porter so will give it a try as soon as the opportunity arises.
