Replacing Laptop Screen, will put an IPS. Anyone knows an IPS equivalent to "LTN156AT01" screen?

Good night everyone, I'll be replacing my Samsung RF511-SD4 screen with a IPS new screen, it has a TN panel, and the screen has a black mark right in the middle of the screen (the previous owner dopper it).

The screen Model number is LTN156AT01 and it's a 30-pin connector, with a CCFL backlight connector.

I will be purchasing a similar screen, and found this guide on replacing a TN panel with an IPS panel, and I've seen it done myself before (a Dell screen in that case).

Basically I need to know a screen that can be put in this computer, it's a 15,6" screen, with 1366x768 resolution.

Here's a picture of the screen 30-pin position, sorry it's in portuguese, found this image online already.

Anyone can help me with this?

Update: Apparently the screen for the Dell Inspiron 1545 is compatible, it's the LP156WH1, can anyone back this info for me?

This is an image of it: I think i'll need to replace the CCFL Backlight conector, doesn't seem equal to me.

I am also seeing that the Dell Inspiron 1545 screens are compatible with the same part number.

Assuming you get one with the same pinout, they should be plug-and-play, even if the IPS display is a higher resolution like 1080p.

There's a small chance it won't work, of course, but that's to be said about anything you order online.

Worst case scenario, I'll be paying a few bucks to ship it back. MercadoLivre takes returns very nicely!

  • 4 weeks later...

Aaaaand the connector didn't fit, the screen just arrived, the connectors are both 30-pin, but mine is kind of a slim connector, while the IPS screen is a larger connector... Time to return it!
