will these computer upgrades work with my motherboard?

im upgrading an old computer someone gave me and right now it has a g33mo2 motherboard. i was curious if could upgrade the cpu and the ram on the motherboard or if it will not work with the upgrades. im also thinking about upgrading the hard drive

the ram will not fit, its dimm memory and you need ddr2 memory

i know but i used an intel core 2 quad with that motherboard and it didnt work and thats the same socket.

mobo may need a firmware update to support "newer" cpus, u'll need to find out exactly what board it is, use its list of supported cpus and do any firmware updates if req.

 

you may even get your quad core working in it but being an old chip it coulda just been bad ?

im running linux mint. the motherboard started beeping. it was doing the same thing that it did when i accidentally put dead ram into it. its running fine right now on a single core celeron cpu
