seems to have a ton of complaints about phantom clicks, but looks like it is certainly what im looking for tracking wise.

Always be weary of bad reviews. It's always the upset customer that complains, never the happy customer that praises. It's likely that there were issues as one point, but it was either rare enough that it wasn't deemed worthwhile to fix (by Logitech -- i.e. low RMA/complaint rates) or it was, in which case it's likely been fixed.

I'm looking for something kinda small that can track on anything and slide well without a mouse pad.

I used to have what I think was an m505 from logitech, and that thing not only tracked on everything, it slid really really well without a mousepad on almost any surface while sill having grip. Unfortunatly a couple of years ago some jackass stole it. Hope you have a unifying receiver, dumbass.

Anyway that thing was a great mouse to take with my laptop for light use. The laptop I had at the time had a tiny trackpad and a sub-par nipple mouse, and it was great to have. Look for something to replace it. Usually I take one of my mice frm my office and throw a qck in the bag with it, but less hassle would be nice.

is a very nice value one that I own. i cant speak for the latency as I've never tested, but it tracks on most things (even like, a towel) and has decent build quality.

a lot of reviews on  that one say it has flaky tracking and also suffers from double clicking, my g600 certainly does so I believe it.

I haven't experienced any of those issues, although, mine is at least six years old.

You can always buy it and if it has issues return it.

google thought I wanted a grenade launcher until I added logitech lol

The low price worries me but the good reviews reassure me. I'll look into this one.

one of my biggest worries look at all of these is the quality of the plastic. The m505 was not the highest end mouse, but despite the looks it really had good plastic, felt good and held up to me absolutely abusing it. I want something that I can indiscriminately throw in my bag on the outer pocket and abuse said bag.

would the g602 do well without a mousepad?

I am using my G602 and it's my favorite mouse by a country fucking mile. There's little to no input lag and it's great. It's probably not capable of tracking on white surfaces but it tracks on both my wooden desk and soft mousepad as well. It's built quite well, do not fret that. Logitech stuff post the 602 is a little iffy but this is built well. My mom has an original G400 and that's taken a beating and still works amazing.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

it just realized it's an optical mouse. IF I was looking for a wireless gaming mouse, this would be a good buy probably, but a laser mouse would do better for what im looking for.

However

I might buy that one for my living room setup

g900? :D

I would not be willing to abuse something that costs that much, and I since it's optical, I doubt its ability to track on nearly anything. I'm not looking for a good gaming mouse, just a throw bag mouse. X D

Oh, easy, a Logitech MX610 then. It's a wireless version of the already super comfy and quite practical M500 that I use for my secondary mouse.

im probably at least giving this one a try after realizing that for some reason it's 10$ cheaper to order without the frustration free packaging.

edit

bought it
