GTX 950 is a pretty solid GPU at around $110, however with the release of the RX 480 you should be able to find a 960 / 380 for like $140 or so around the internet. I'd personally recommend saving a few bucks more and getting a GTX 1060 at $250 bucks.

Title says it all. Going to be used for gaming, and daily use. No photo, or video editing. Want best bang for buck without bottlenecking. MAX budget of $200. I would love the cheaper the better

If you can find a used Gtx 970 in your budget, it would be that. Otherwise, Rx 470 is the next best thing.

RX 460. You'll be hampered by the 4160 in the most demanding games but the 460 4GB should be a good match.

780 TI

cheaper, actually designed for a dual core, and still games @ 60 FPS with modern titles

pretty good for a 6 year old card (think the series is 6 years old, don't quote me on that)

****SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE*****

unless he plays Hitman, then a 780 TI will be ok for him,

A 970/470 would both be much better options at a similar price point. (with the 470 being the even better option)

Why buy old stuff if the new one is as fast, use less power and more future proof.

Oh, balderdash. I'm running a Core i3 4160 with an overclocked GTX 960 and I haven't seen a CPU bottleneck anywhere. Not even in The Witcher 3 in the middle of Novigrad with the NPC density maxed out (GPU at 100%, CPU anywhere between 75 and 90%). And yes, this is at 1080p. I also don't see CPU bottlenecks running a heavily modded copy of Skyrim with hundreds of added NPCs, locations, items, AI tweaks, and HDT physics implementations- not even when I run out of things to do and spawn dozens of NPCs and enemies onto a plate.

@Goot- the RX 480 4GB is the best GPU on the market for $200, and I'd highly recommend buying it. At the very least, you won't have to upgrade that for a while- not unless an NVidia Apocalypse comes to pass.

Exactly. Not to mention, the enormously better power efficiency. I doubt OP has the sort of beefy power supply a 780 Ti would require. On the other hand, the GTX 1060 and RX 480 can both run off a single 6 or 8-pin PCIe connector and draw 120 and 150 watts respectively, as opposed to 250 watts on the 780 Ti.

I'm not referring to The Witcher 3. Games like Arma 3 which are coded poorly may tax the CPU improperly.

Edit: The 460 4GB is about 130. That may give OP some money leftover for a potential upgrade to a 45xx or 47xx.

OP would be better putting the money towards a 470 than an i5. I'd take an i3+470 over an i5/i7+460 anyday (of course it does depend on how one plans to upgrade as time goes on -- if the intention is to upgrade every generation, and a 460 happens to be enough, then an i5+460 is the better choice, but most people tend to upgrade when they absolutely have to -- in which case an i3+470 would last longer).

Poorly coded titles and games that are heavier on the CPU than the GPU in general are the exception- not the rule.

I don't mean to capsize the topic, but I have a burning question:

Would the Core i3 bottleneck the RX 470 in a game like GTA V?

I want an honest opinion.

I mean, I can't trust these tech reviewers anymore because they tend to overspec their PCs to the max.

I just want to know if a core i3 6100 + RX 470 combo would run GTA V @ 1080p with 50+ FPS?
