Questions about the R9-280X vs 7970 and NSF

Hi everyone,

So I have some questions about the new released cards from AMD, like everyone else on the forum apparently...

I was hoping I could get BF4 with the Never Settle Forever deal, but it seems that BF4 will only be included with the R9-290X.

If it will be included with the R9-280X (or the 7970) I would basically upgrade for free, since I'm gonna buy BF4 anyway.

The Questions:

1. Is there any news on BF4 being included with the Never Settle Forever bundle?

2. The 7970 still comes with the NSF codes, but none of the new cards do. Do you think that will change?

3. The 7970 is 250 euros here (Club3D Royal Ace) and the cheapest non-reference R9-280X is 279 euros. Are there any advantages the 280X has that are worth the extra 30 euro's?

some links:

(alternate is the only seller with NSF codes atm where I live )

Thanks in advance guys, hope you have a great weekend!

3. It is a 7970GHZ edition, so think of it like that. What is the cheapest 7970GHZ where you are?

Wait isn't the Club3D 7970 RoyalAce a 7970GHZ? On Club3D's website it says it runs at 1050 MHz with a 1100 MHz turbo.

Don't know if that means it is a GHZ edition, but I also read somewhere it was one.

If so, it is the cheapest 7970 in general with a NSF code included.

Well if it is cheaper than a R9-280x go for that, if not you just have to justify if the extra money is worth it for NSF

1.  There isn't any news, everyone assumed it would be but have some doubts now that there is a 290x bf4 edition with the game, but that also includes premium so doesn't completely rule out the base game being added.  Although I could see them adding it after bf4 has been out a few weeks (so EA doesn't miss out on all those day 1 purchases).

2.  It's very likely in my opinion that the bundle will apply to new cards as soon stock of the old cards is depleted enough (and to respond to any possible nvidia price cuts  / launches (maybe 770ti and relaunched 760 etc.) without having to reduce their own prices.

Yeah, but it's really weird, because the 2 cheapest 7970's are the XFX DD and the Club 3D one, and I've heard those coolers aren't the best.

The rest of the 7970's are all almost 100 euros more expensive.

But if it's loud, I seriously don't want that, currently have the reference GTX 760, it's the only thing thats audible in my computer and it's frigging annoying.

Truaudio which may or may be an issue (MacLaren automotive say 50% of all performance comes from the ears so give it a chance), a much improved gradual fan controller software. (good for me because i hate when it goes 77%....75%....77%....75%....77%), mantle which could be awesome if its fully featured (and likely will be), and directx 11.2 if its not. and tbh the prices arnt much different, no company wants to put another out of business (not when you can copy each others ideas) but amd seem to be gunning for nvidia because ive heard the r9-290x (7970) will be about £250 going by bit-tech which is pretty much the same price as now...
