My G400S died on me today. I've been looking for a mouse to replace it but; I'm in love with the size and shape of the G400S mouse. I've been using them for almost a decade and a half, I've had MX500s for years until they died on me. So far I've been using bootleg G400s mice(you can tell they're fake because they dont work with the logitech gaming software), because I can't find authentic ones. The ones on ebay, amazon, newegg are all forgeries shipped straight from china. They dont last very long, maybe a year at best. It's nigh impossible to find real ones, because you dont know until you install them on your PC. Is there any mouse that has the same comforting shape of the G400S that is in production and readily available? If not where can I buy authentic G400S mice? Also has logitech given up on making any more successors of the MX500/MX518/G400?

P.S. Dont like the death adder too heavy.

no offense to your mouse.....but it looks very unpleasant and very uncomfortable......If you wanted another you are mostly likely going to have to get a used one.

And yes, yes they have.

What is your price range btw?

I would consider the G402. Even though it wasn't much of a cheap purchase for me, I really liked it. It has a decent sensor with a good feature set. And yeah they still release MX mice, but they are productivity oriented.

I would recommend you the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum, but considering that you don't like heavy mouses I would get a Corsair M65 Pro RGB or Steelseries Rival 700, just don't go with Razer, horrible quality and high price, mostly focused for kids with money.

I own a G700s and love it. The flexibility that the wireless offers and the mouse is really comfy to use is really great to have. Also it has a good number of programmable buttons and a really good sensor. You can also use it wired if you wanna go that route!

First build every: Intel Core i7 4790K, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 2x8 16GB Kit, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, Corsair Obsidian 450D Black ATX Mid Tower, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & 3TB Toshiba HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2, Corsair H100i GTX 240mm, Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0/Wifi Card, Logitech G700S. Running on Windows 10

Surface Pro 3: i5 4300U with 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro

I wanna spend no more than 50$.

Where can I buy a brand new MX500?

The G502 is problably going to be your best bet. Right now im using the G502 Proteus Spectrum and I love it. The design is very ergonomic, all the buttons are easy to hit, it's very responsive, the laser is very good. Overall its a fantastic mouse. *NOTE* the only difference between the G502 and the G502 Spectrum is that the spectrum has full LED on it. Absolutely no difference in the hardware, brand new the spectrum is about 60$ so the G502 is problably right in your price range. Also the G502 series mice have modular weights in them. You can adjust the weights to go to the front, left, right, and rear. or you can just remove all of them and it will be practically weightless.
