Biostar?

I wonder why is everyone so angry with Biostar? Never had their motherboard and I have only seen 1 store that sells it in my country so I wonder, can it really be that bad?

I'm not sure. I used to have a Biostar board in a web browsing machine a few years back and it worked perfectly fine for my grandma to press the power button and browse Yahoo News and Facebook

The z170 ones they make don't look too bad. Can't go wrong with black, but brown accents might turn people away.

Do not underestimate the level of crap that Biostar is. Terrible build quality, features that may or may not work, poor power delivery (try to OC a CPU on an ASUS board, then try to do it on a Biostar), poor support when something breaks and a waste of time and money before you buy the more expensive board you should have shelled out for in the first place.

 

IMO, there are four board OEMs worth a damn: AsRock, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI (in no particular order). Wouldn't buy a board from anyone else.

Meh? Every review I've seen (more for EVGA than Sapphire) pins them as high-priced specialty enthusiast boards. Even if I had $5k to spend on a PC, I'd probably still grab an upper-midrange ASUS or Gigabyte and put the rest towards the Titan X (Pascal) SLI fund

Eh, if I were going to toss a Biostar board in anything, it'd probably be something like a Celeron/Pentium workstation with 4GB of RAM and a HDD-only setup. Something that I'd put a 220W PSU into and still feel like it was overpowered. It'd most likely be built for someone who swears by Internet Explorer, if you get my drift.
