Apu Bottleneck

Hello,

I am planning to get a new GPU for my system.I am using AMD A8 7600 apu (3.1 GHz) and 8 GB 2133 MHz RAM.Which GPU will run smoothly with my apu? A GTX 950 or 960? I am concerned that GTX 960 (4 gb version) will bottleneck my CPU. What should I do ? I cant change my cpu right now. May be later. Please help me to choose the right GPU.

I have budget to buy a GTX 960 4 gb version. But I am concerned about bottleneck. That is why I am considering GTX 950 also.

How much does it cost though. It doesnt matter if it bottle necks buy the best care you can afford right now and upgrade later.

I don't see any bottlenecking except for some of the more CPU-driven games like Total War. Don't limit your GPU just because you're concerned about a bottleneck since the GPU can last you for a long time until you upgrade your whole rig.

I'd look into the RX 460 or 300-series from AMD or possibly a 950/960/1060 from Nvidia

The fastest gpu I would pair with that cpu is either an r9 380 or gtx 960. Get the gtx 960 2gb however since the 4gb version is pretty overpriced.

I will play mainly upcoming FIFA 17. Besides that GTA V , Dark souls III , Street Fighter V , And BAttlefield 1. Will this game run smoothly without bottleneck?? My first priority is FIFA 17. I dont know it it a cpu intense game or not.

One of my friend is selling GTX 960 4 gb version with warranty. That is why I am considering this. 4 gb version is better than 2 gb version??right?

For GTA 5 you may experience a CPU bottleneck but for the others you should be fine. I'd get a 960 with 2GB since the card struggles when using 3.2GB and up. I don't think FIFA has been CPU intensive but that's for someone else to tell you. Other than that, don't worry about bottlenecks unless you'll be buying the next generation of GPU's.

The extra 2gb will definitely be of help in some games. The apu will bottleneck the card in games such as gta v however but you'll get better framerates than what you are getting now.

Not sure how much but an 860k with an r9 280 got the same fps at similar settings in gta v at 1080p and 1440p. Here is the vid :

One of my clients has an 860K which is a little bit better than yours paired with a GTX 580 which is slower than a GTX 960 and he can easily play Fallout 4 at 900p medium-high settings 40-60 FPS. Fallout 4 isn't known to be one of the well optimized titles but he doesn't experience any stuttering, so there's my 2 cents. You should be still fine, yes there will be bottlenecks but it shouldn't be to the point where there's massive stuttering and FPS drops all across the board. Unless we're talking about a piss poor optimized game like Watch Dogs and Batman Arkham Knight on launch day which a lot of people aren't going to have a good time then that's the fault of the devs.
